How we support STEM and literacy education for students, families, and communities.
The Bottor STEM & Literacy Innovation Program is our flagship initiative — a comprehensive approach to education that brings together hands-on learning, critical thinking, and literacy development in a connected, student-centered experience.
The program provides hands-on learning experiences that help students develop literacy, STEM, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills through project-based activities, interactive technology, and educational resources.
Supporting program areas include:
Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics are not just school subjects — they are ways of thinking and solving problems. Our STEM exploration programming gives students hands-on opportunities to experiment, investigate, and discover.
We support activities and challenges that develop analytical thinking, scientific inquiry, and a genuine curiosity about how the world works — helping students build skills they will use for a lifetime.
Strong reading and writing skills are essential to a student's success across every subject area. Our literacy development programming supports foundational reading skills, comprehension, vocabulary, and a genuine love of language and storytelling.
We work to ensure that students — especially those in underserved communities — have access to high-quality literacy instruction and resources during the most critical windows of language development.
Students learn best when they are actively engaged — building, creating, experimenting, and solving real problems. Our hands-on project programming uses project-based learning to bring STEM and literacy skills to life.
Through meaningful challenges and creative projects, students develop persistence, collaboration, and the problem-solving skills they need to navigate complex situations both inside and outside the classroom.
Interactive technology is one powerful tool in our educational approach. Digital resources and educational games can deepen engagement, reinforce skills, and make learning accessible in new ways — particularly for students who benefit from varied learning experiences.
We incorporate interactive technology as part of a broader, well-rounded educational experience — always in service of deeper learning, not as an end in itself.
Great education does not happen in isolation. Bottor Learning Foundation partners with schools, libraries, and community organizations across Wisconsin to bring STEM and literacy programming directly to students where they live and learn.
Through these partnerships, we work to create environments where learning is supported, celebrated, and accessible — and where families and educators are equipped to reinforce skills at home and in the classroom.
